Serving Orders of Protection

Home > Departments > Court Services > Civil Services > Serving Orders of Protection

Orders of Protection can be brought to the Sheriff’s Office Civil Division by either the Cook County State’s Attorney or the Petitioner directly.  The Sheriff’s Office does not charge a fee for the service of an Order of Protection.  A No Contact Order is treated the same as an Order of Protection.  An Order of Protection can be filed with the Civil Division at any of our suburban courthouse locations or at the Daley Center, 50 W. Washington, Chicago, Room 701.  Please be sure to include a valid service address with the correct zip code to ensure proper service.
